The Ministry Driven ChurchI'd like to give you my e-book The Ministry Driven Church, but first let me tell you a little about myself: In 1957 when I was 14, I committed my life to serve Jesus Christ as my Savior and Lord. The next summer, over 65 years ago, while taking care of lawns at an apartment complex, the Lord gave me a vision: I saw a map of the Soviet Union in the sky and a voice said: "Remember this apartment complex plan - you'll build it when you're an old man." And I remember that there was something special about the stairs, but I didn't understand what it was. Now I'm over 80, so I guess I'm old enough to start this new project!

The next year, I preached my first sermon at an inner-city mission, then I led our high school debate team to the state championship, I was elected president of our high school's YFC (Youth for Christ) club, I won the city-wide Denver YFC "preacher boy" contest and led and won the Bible quiz team contest on St. Paul's letter to the Galatians (I memorized all six chapters so I knew the answers). I won second place in a national German language contest. I also memorized lots of Shakespeare – big chunks of MacBeth, Julius Caesar, Romeo and Juliet – for English class.

Right after high school I went into the Army and learned Russian – we had to memorize 4-6 pages of conversational Russian every day. Realizing I was good at memorizing, I started memorizing Scripture: by now I've memorized the four Gospels and Acts, most of the New Testament, many selections from the Old Testament including the the whole Book of Psalms, rotating between four languages.

After active duty in the Army, I enrolled in university and studied more languages, history and political science of Central and Eastern Europe. In my first two semesters I took 41 credit hours and earned a 4.0 GPA. By receiving 15 credit hours for my Russian training in the Army and by taking summer courses at the university, I had completed two years of coursework in one year. But then my second year, while serving as president of the InterVarsity Christian Fellowship chapter on campus, I became acquainted with a wonderful, amazing young lady who was the IVCF chapter secretary and as they say, "the rest is history!" 2. ANOTHER INJURY REPORTED AT PLANNED PARENTHOOD IN COLORADO WHERE TEEN DIED

SYNOPSIS: The pro-life watchdog group Operation Rescue reported that a 29-year-old woman was transported from a Fort Collins, Colorado, Planned Parenthood on July 9 after suffering a serious hemorrhage. Emergency responders classified the incident as a "Bravo Medical" call, necessitating a second ambulance to provide blood for a potential transfusion.

This facility has faced repeated scrutiny, having called 911 at least five other times this year for various patient complications. The clinic is the same location where 18-year-old Lexi Arguello died in 2025 following a 22nd-week abortion procedure. An autopsy for Lexi Arguello confirmed she died from a clotting disorder related to an amniotic fluid embolism, with allegations suggesting staff failed to provide timely care.

Ask the Lord to shut down the abortion mills that work the political system for money to prey on women in difficult situations.

 

3. UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH OF THE USA ISSUES STATEMENT ON 35TH ANNIVERSARY OF UKRAINE’S INDEPENDENCE

SYNOPSIS: The Council of Bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and Diaspora issued an official statement to commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. The bishops highlighted that the anniversary is especially significant as it coincides with the 250th anniversary of American independence, noting that both nations share a history defined by the struggle for freedom.

The statement acknowledges the ongoing "brutal and unjust invasion" by Russia, expressing deep sorrow for the loss of life, displacement, and destruction suffered by the Ukrainian people over the past four years. The church leaders extended profound gratitude to the global community, including nations, churches, and humanitarian organizations, for their unwavering solidarity and support of Ukraine. The Council of Bishops reaffirmed their commitment to humanitarian efforts, calling on the faithful to continue supporting refugees, comforting those who are grieving, and advocating for peace founded on justice.

Pray for an end to Russia's terrible war of aggression in Ukraine and for reparations to rebuild what Russia has destroyed.

 

4. THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS

SYNOPSIS: Author Judie Brown explains that legalized assisted suicide and abortion represent a "culture of death" that intentionally causes the loss of human life. Alex Schadenberg relates how assisted suicide laws provide legal immunity for medical professionals to decide whose lives are not worth living.

The state of California and Attorney General Rob Bonta are suing Heartbeat International for its promotion of the abortion pill reversal (APR) technique. Proponents of abortion pill reversal, such as Dr. George Delgado, maintain that using progesterone can effectively save pregnancies despite legal and political opposition. The commentary concludes that institutional support for abortion and assisted suicide is rooted in deception, urging readers to remain committed to their interpretation of the truth.

Intercede for the pregnant, elderly, ill and disabled who can become targets for abortion or assisted suicide if nobody steps in to care for them.

 

5. NATIONAL ALERT SYSTEM FOR MISSING PERSONS WITH AUTISM IS IN THE WORKS

SYNOPSIS: The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is launching a National Autism Missing and Endangered Person Alert Initiative. This initiative will coordinate efforts between the HHS, the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to improve search and response protocols for missing autistic individuals.

The project aims to create an alert system modeled after the Amber Alert while establishing national best practices for first responders to prevent injuries and deaths, particularly regarding wandering and accidental drowning. Research indicates that children with autism have a significantly higher risk of elopement, and are 160 times more likely to die from drowning compared to their peers. National autism coordinator Diana Diaz Harrison and advocacy groups like Autism Speaks emphasize that this framework is essential for closing gaps in emergency response and ensuring consistent safety protocols across states.

Thank the Lord for this new system of improved alerts to the emergency services when persons with autism go missing.

 

6. HOW 3 HEALTH FACTORS CAN HELP DELAY DEMENTIA FOR UP TO 13 YEARS

SYNOPSIS: A study from NYU Langone Health suggests that avoiding three specific vascular risk factors – high blood pressure, diabetes, and smoking – during middle age can delay the onset of dementia by up to 13 years. Researchers tracked 12,400 participants over 26 years, finding that those without these three risk factors enjoyed significantly longer dementia-free lives. Dr. Josef Coresh, director of the Optimal Aging Institute, emphasized that managing these factors is crucial because vascular health in midlife directly influences brain health and Alzheimer’s pathology.

Medical experts, including Dr. Cynthia Carlsson and Dr. Anna S. Nordvig, note that maintaining healthy blood vessels protects the brain from cognitive decline by ensuring proper blood flow and nutrition to brain tissue. While these three factors are primary targets for prevention, experts also recommend monitoring cholesterol, sleep apnea, and obesity to improve overall vascular and cognitive health. The third risk factor is smoking: stopping this habit lengthens the average life span. Approximately half of all dementia cases are considered preventable through lifestyle changes, and experts stress that it is never too late to begin addressing these risk factors.

Praise God for this research that emphasizes avoiding high blood pressure, diabetes, and smoking during middle age to delay the onset of dementia.

 

7. THE HEALTHY EATING INDEX: DIET QUALITY AND DISABILITY

SYNOPSIS: This article examines the Healthy Eating Index, the 0 to 100 scoring system that federal agencies use to judge how closely a diet matches the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, and looks closely at what that measurement reveals – and conceals – about disabled people's eating. It was developed by the Department of Agriculture and maintained in partnership with the National Cancer Institute.

The index breaks a diet into thirteen equally weighted components, nine rewarding adequacy and four rewarding moderation. Americans aged two and older average 58 out of 100, while adults living with physical functioning limitations average closer to 50, a gap the evidence traces less to personal choice than to income, transport, kitchen design, and who does the shopping. The paper sets out the full component table, separates the two very different research questions that connect diet quality to disability, and marks the points where a population-level instrument fits an individual life badly.

Pray for disabled people's ability to have the income, transportation, adequate kitchen layout and help in making healthy meals.

"WILD AND WASTED VIRTUES"

 

 

G.K. ChestertonModern society and many televangelists promote the "Health and Wealth" false Gospel. Being healthy and having sufficient material things are not intrinsic evils, but when they are promoted as supreme goods, they become false gods – idols.

In his book Orthodoxy, G.K. Chesterton wrote: The modern world is not evil; in some ways the modern world is far too good. It is full of wild and wasted virtues. When a religious scheme is shattered (as Christianity was shattered at the Reformation), it is not merely the vices that are let loose. The vices are, indeed, let loose, and they wander and do damage. But the virtues are let loose also; and the virtues wander more wildly, and the virtues do more terrible damage. The modern world is full of the old Christian virtues gone mad. The virtues have gone mad because they have been isolated from each other and are wandering alone. Thus some scientists care for truth; and their truth is pitiless. Thus some humanitarians only care for pity; and their pity (I am sorry to say) is often untruthful.

Pseudo-pity and overblown compassion today are being pushed as reasons for allowing and promoting illegal and/or immoral behavior. Recently I saw a meme on eX-twitter: "Don't kill me just because I came here illegally so my children could have a better life!" This is how the full facts can be distorted or ignored in order to stir the virtue-signalling pseudo-pity that justifies a disregard for laws meant to protect society. The same tactic is used to promote unmarried and same-sex couples "living together" (fornicating). Genuine compassion keeps in mind what not only satisfies or gratifies individuals, but also and more importantly what is best for society in the long run.

When "the virtues are let loose" they become unbalanced. We know what happens when a washing machine is unbalanced: it begins making terrible noise as it bounces around the floor, banging into other objects. It's even worse when a car engine or wheels are unbalanced, and often fatal when a jet engine is unbalanced. Thus, when we push one of the virtues to an extreme, it's no longer a virtue, it distorts into a vice.

One of my favorite verses in the Psalms is – "Mercy and truth meet together. Righteousness and peace have kissed each other" (Ps.85:10). This passage aptly illustrates the harmonious balance of various virtues: mercy counterbalanced by truth, righteousness (justice) coupled with peace. Seeking peace at all costs can easily endanger the continued existence of society. In the same way, tolerance of sexual immorality in the long run leads to the extinction of a nation, as the upcoming demographic implosion indicates.

"The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul. The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple" (Ps.19:7).
