BUILDING THE ARC

building the ARC(← Click to see full-size!) You might ask – "Do I look like Noah? Why would I want to Build the ARC, anyway?" Here's why: my wife and I were missionaries to Russia for 17 years. Secular materialism has led to the de-Christianizing of the world: in its extreme form of communism, about 250,000 church buildings in Russia were destroyed or confiscated and turned into museums, breweries, factories or "Lenin Houses of Culture" during the Soviet era. Secularization worldwide continues to lead many people to become dependent on the state for answers to all their problems, diminishing the role of the church in society.

Poor, disabled, and elderly Christians must free themselves from the idea that an unnamed "they" – meaning someone else: the government or "the rich" or other Christians – ought to pay to build wheelchair-accessible housing and new churches. But the secular state isn't going to do it, the rich generally aren't very charitable, and there isn't enough money in all the Christian churches and mission organizations in the whole world for these organizations to build enough of such buildings so that our country and other countries can again be called "Christian nations."

Almost all Christians, however, including poor, disabled, and elderly people, have a place to live, so Christians already have the wealth needed to carry out the task of re-Christianizing their countries, in the form of their current homes. This is a "DIY" (Do It Yourself) project: by exchanging their current home for a home in an ARC – an Agape Restoration Community, they are providing a wheelchair-accessible building where... NEXT, THE NEWS:

THEY FUND PUBLIC BROADCASTING ON PBS. THEY ALSO FUND THE ABORTION INDUSTRY.
from:
LiveAction News

Sesame Street (14 Mar.) Synopsis: The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation suppprts PBS (Public Broadcasting Service), a trusted source for news and information which in turn channels these donations and taxpayer dollars to support abortion providers. Despite its reputation for impartiality, Public Broadcasting stations have been involved in promoting abortion clinics and advocating for abortion rights.

The article highlights the financial connections between these stations and abortion organizations, raising concerns about transparency and ethical use of public funds. The issue remains contentious, as critics argue that taxpayer money should not be indirectly supporting abortion services. [read more...]

COMMENTARY: Most parents are totally unaware that when watch PBS or their children are watching Sesame Street, a hidden agenda is being pursued by PBS to influence them toward acceptance of abortion. We need to inform them of this!

CALIFORNIA COULD LIBERALISE CONDITIONS FOR ASSISTED SUICIDE
from:
BioEdge.org

Golden Gate Bridge (14 Mar.) Synopsis: California is considering liberalizing conditions for assisted suicide through the Humane and Dignified Death Act. This proposed initiative would allow physicians to end the life of terminally ill patients upon their request, following proper legal documentation. Currently, suicide is not a crime, but assisting in suicide is.

Supporters argue that individuals have a moral right to choose how they end their lives, especially when suffering from incurable conditions. But proponents of assisted suicide begin their efforts by promising strict controls and limitations, then gradually introduce more loose controls leading to almost anyone who feels bad can do it. [read more...]

COMMENTARY: In spite of all the verbal spaghetti such as "moral right to choose how they end their lives," choosing to kill oneself or someone else is never moral or right. If you put lipstick and a wig on a pig, it's still a pig!

RUSSIA: RELIGIOUS FREEDOM SURVEY, MARCH 2024
from:
Forum 18 News Service
Hebrews 13:3 – "Remember those who are in bonds, as bound with them..."

Forum 18 News Service (13 Mar.) Synopsis: Freedom of religion and belief, with interlinked freedoms of expression, association, assembly, and other fundamental freedoms remain seriously restricted in Russia. Forum 18's survey analysis ahead of the forthcoming presidential election documents freedom of religion or belief.

The violations include "extremism"-related criminal prosecutions and jailings of Christian conscientious objectors to the war in Ukraine, Jehovah's Witnesses and of Muslims who meet to study the works of Said Nursi; torture, and impunity for torture; prisoners of conscience deprived of Russian citizenship and deported after their sentence. On 17 August 2023, the SOVA Center, a human rights organization in Russia, was liquidated. [read more...]

COMMENTARY: Putinism is the new Stalinism. At first, Putin was a popularly elected leader, but after just a few years, it became obvious to me and other informed observers that the elections were being rigged in his favor. Now he's been president for 25 years and could continue in that office until 2036.

FATAL SHOOTING OF TEEN WITH AUTISM RAISES CONCERNS ABOUT POLICE RESPONSE
from:
Disability Scoop

Ryan Gainer (14 Mar.) Synopsis: The fatal shooting of a Los Angeles teenager with autism has sparked concerns regarding police response to individuals with disabilities. According to the article, the incident occurred when the teen, who was having a meltdown, was carrying a D-shaped garden tool. Despite attempts to de-escalate the situation, police fired shots, resulting in the teen's death.

Advocates emphasize the need for improved training for law enforcement in handling situations involving individuals with disabilities, emphasizing de-escalation techniques. The tragedy highlights the critical need for increased awareness and understanding within law enforcement to prevent such incidents in the future, urging for more comprehensive approaches to crisis intervention. COMMENTARY: This case is eerily similar to that of Elijah McClain in my home town of Aurora, Colorado, who in August 2019 was tazed, given injections and died because he was an Afro-American wearing a mask while taking a walk during the Covid epidemic.

THE POPE LIVES IN A WORLD THAT IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM THE ONE UKRAINE LIVES IN
from:
Religious Information Service of Ukraine

Viktor Yelenskiy (13 Mar.) Synopsis: Pope Francis’ recent statement, urging Ukraine to display courage by raising the “white flag” and initiating negotiations with Russia, has sparked controversy. Viktor Yelenskiy, head of the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnic Policy and Freedom of Conscience, responded, emphasizing that the Pope’s world view vastly differs from that of Ukraine.

Yelenskiy highlighted previous ambiguous statements by the pontiff, including comparing Peter I and Catherine II to “great enlighteners and builders.” Amid the ongoing conflict, Ukrainians seek clarity on distinguishing between good and evil, rather than economic or geopolitical guidance from religious leaders. [read more...]

COMMENTARY: It seems the Pope is living in a fantasy world where everything will work out fine if we just say – "Pretty please, let's stop the fighting." No, Ukrainian people have a moral right to protect their homeland at all costs!

AFTER MAKING ABORTION A RIGHT, NOW EMMANUEL MACRON WANTS TO KILL PEOPLE BY EUTHANASIA
from:
Life News

Emmanuel Macron (14 Mar.) Synopsis: French president Emmanuel Macron has announced that he will back legislation to legalise “aid in dying” for terminally-ill adults. A report last year claimed that most French citizens would support this.

In an interview with French newspapers La Croix and Liberation, Macron said assisted dying would be restricted to adults suffering from an incurable illness, who are expected to die in the “short or middle-term”, and who are suffering “intractable” physical or psychological pain. People with severe psychiatric conditions and neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease will not be eligible. People will be able to take the medication at home, at a nursing home, or at a healthcare facility, Macron said. [read more...]

COMMENTARY: We all have a terminal condition: it's called "life." It is hard to imagine how quickly France is sliding down the slippery slope of justifying the murder of babies and the elderly. Once that dam has been breached just a crack, the flood can begin at a growing pace and sweep away those who believe in God and morality.

NOW, OUR VIEWS:

The Good News of Yeshua, the Messiah

The Good News of Yeshua...is the title of my latest book, and the subtitle is "The Life of Yesous Khristos, the Anointed One, in Chronological Sequence." (It's on sale at 1/2 PRICE thru March 24.) Why two different names for Jesus? To emphasize the Jewish and Greek cultures mixing together in first-century Israel. From the Foreword:

"Who was this historical figure called Yeshua the Messiah in Hebrew (Aramaic) and Yesous Khristos in Greek? Is the story of Yeshua "just a myth" – or is it literally true? For this author's view on the inspiration of the Scriptures, please see the Appendix to his book A First-Century View of Yeshua, the Messiah (available as an e-book and in paperback). We have just a few short pages in two of the four Gospels telling about his birth and childhood. Then his baptism marked the beginning of his preaching and ministry. Just over a third of the four Gospels are taken up by Holy Week, the last week of his earthly human life, his death, and resurrection.

Why do his followers today often jump from his baptism to Holy Week in their mental image of his life? It would seem that two-thirds of the Gospels, what he preached and did over three and a half years, should merit more of our attention and study. Various anonymous writers in the first few centuries of this era marked by his birth, often using pseudonyms attributing their work to one of the Apostles, wrote accounts that attempted to "fill in the blanks" by adding fictitious or even heretical ideas, but these works weren't accepted as genuine by the Early Church because they were not truly Apostolic, that is, not actually written by one of the twelve or seventy Apostles. But in this work the reader is encouraged to carefully consider what Yeshua/Yesous actually did and said in those three and a half years, not just Holy Week.

Why "just another harmony of the Gospels"? It's more than that: it uses more modern English and a larger font, making it much easier to read than the typical harmony with four-columns of Gospels on a page. The repeated telling of events that appear in more than one Gospel are combined into one event, and the technical indices are moved to the back of the book. This makes it an easy 2-evening read: about half the length of the four Gospels as individual books.

You can get the book at www.amazon.com/dp/B0CW1FX4LH: regular price is $19.99 for paperback, now just $9.99; regular price is $9.99 for Kindle eBook, now just $4.99. But these prices are only thru March 24.
