I wrote the software for these courses, and my wife, a nurse and rehab consultant, and I wrote the course content.

Why study with us? Because we as Christians are called to be saints, that is, to be transformed into the image and likeness of Christ! What was He like? He healed the sick, cleansed the lepers and cast out demons. He showed His disciples how to minister to "the poor, maimed, lame and blind," who should be our target audience, not the "healthy, wealthy and wise" - and then He commissioned His disciples to train their disciples (that's us) to do the same!

So don't think to yourself: "Let the government do it! I'll just pay my taxes and forget about the poor and sick." Guess what? The government takes your tax money and spends it on bureaucrats' generous salaries, trips to Las Vegas for "conferences" and all sorts of other wasteful stuff. Maybe about half (if even that much) of our tax money for social services actually gets to "the poor, the maimed, the lame and the blind."

We in the Church should never abdicate to the state our social responsibility, because the state just ties it up in bureaucratic red tape and de-incentivizes the sick and the poor so that they rarely if ever get well and go back to work (the more clients for the bureaucrats, the more job security... and the more votes!): that's our experience after decades in this ministry.
